There is something about the colder, darker days—an invitation to turn inward, to rest, and reflect in the quiet. Yet, as the year comes to an end, the air often carries a sense of pressure—the holiday season and the need to know what goals or plans to set for the year ahead…
In an Instagram post, I shared how I often find myself guided by the thought: “What feels true to my core?” I need to sit with it. Create space. Pause and listen.
I wondered, how shall I create and find new inspiration amidst a sense of “busyness” and distraction? How shall I know what feels right if I lack the space for answers to rise from the depths of my being?
I don’t want to be guided solely by my mind; I want to be inspired and led by my heart. Let the mind serve the heart. And this, at least from my experience, sometimes takes time—to clear the noise and distractions, to drop from the mind back into the heart.
I loved what one of my teachers said recently: “Open your heart. The more it is open, the more you speak from the heart. The more you listen from your heart, the more you are able to see further than anyone else.”
As we are still in winter, let’s embrace the energy of introspection and pausing, creating a fertile ground within ourselves where new inspiration can rise, guiding us through the year ahead.
If you feel the call to reflect, here are some journal questions that have guided me in the process:
What are you most proud of this year? What experience helped you grow the most?
What was your most difficult challenge, and what did it teach you?
Who made a meaningful impact on your life? Who challenged you? What lessons or boundaries emerged from these experiences?
If you could sum up your year in one word or phrase, what would it be?
Where does your heart finds life? How can you create more space for that in 2025?
One of my Kundalini Yoga teachers shared an invitation for 2024: take everything as an experiment, which will remove the pressure. The primary purpose of an experiment is to collect data (there is no failure or success). Instead of focusing on conclusions, use the data to create connections—it will help you create a better life. I found it to be a beautiful invitation for a shift in perspective.
Other ways to find inspiration and clarity:
I recently did a screenshot of my Pinterest pins and asked ChatGPT: “What can you tell about me according to my saved pins on Pinterests.”
The answer felt quite accurate: “Your Pinterest board reflects themes of sacred living, beauty, spirituality, and intentional living.” It can be a helpful tool for clarity and aligning your intentions with what feels true for you.
If it’s of interest to you, you could dive into your Astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys, or Kabbalah chart for clarity. See what resonates.
Go outside, be in nature, and initiate deeper conversations and reflections with friends… There are plenty of possibilities.
Let’s embrace the darker days together:
